Hello baby Ava!

This is my gorgeous baby sister Ava. Born on the 5th March weighing 8lb 1oz. She's a little cutie, who pretty much sleeps through day and night- I just want her to wake up so I can see her amazing little eyes.
A day after the birth I have already started buying her the most adorable outfits which I plan to style her in 24/7, make her my tiny fashion icon. My mum is going to get so fed up!

crochet pleats

Shirt- Republic £15
Top- New Look £12.99
Shorts- H+M £14.99

Pretty much representing the high street today! This cute little crochet crop, I haven't worn much although the more and more I look at it this picture the more outfits I can see it going with. These shorts are one of my best purchases, they are super comfy (love how that is one of my priorities) they can be casual or dressy! Also the colour is so versatile.

This picture was taken at home by my little sister! I'm home from uni at the moment as there is going to be an extra sibling added to the family any day now! Exciting news, Ava or Ethan is what my parents have decided on but not 100% on the boys name.
Can you all think of any nice ones?

comfy jumper.

Jumper- Topshop £28
Shorts- Levis vintage £25
Scarf- New Look £3.99
Belt- Primark £2
Tights- Primark £1.50 for three
Shoes- Jeffrey Campbell £40

It's the weekend fellow bloggers, hope you all have nice plans! Mine involve having a go at the enormous stack of uni work I have accumulated, hope you're all really jealous!

Wore this outfit today just to nip into town quick, its a bit dressy but I can never fault a comfy jumper and patterned scarf chucked over the top. I haven't worn my Jeffrey Campbell boots in a while, which is completely shameful of me so I had to lovingly put them on- even if it was for a short walk to town.

These vintage red Levis shorts are a big size 10 and a bit baggy around the front area, which isn't for me (I like tight tight shorts) hence my blogger name. Therefore, I was going to list them on eBay. If anyone is interested, leave a comment and I'll see what deals I can do for my lovely followers!

Baring for the winter.

Headband- Primark £2
Top- Miss Selfridge £22
Chiffon cardigan- Republic £15
Leggings- Topshop £22
Boots- Primark £15

Although the wind is stupidly harsh right now I still can't bare to hide away this top, deep in the wardrobe. Mother is always complaining about how its crazy to have your belly out in this weather bla bla bla. Its one of my favourite statements right now though, I may have bought it a couple of months ago now but I surprisingly haven't got bored as I usually do. I adore the coarse pattern that appears on it in the dark orange, also it shows off that bit of stomach with no rolls and my favourite tattoo which I definitely don't get out enough!
Quite strange that I decided to wear these boots today, as I normally overuse the converse. They are a proper old buy from Primark but you can't fault them. Still go with a wide range of clothing and are dead comfy and with shock...they have not broken.

A special occasion.

Shirt- Asos £34
Leggings- Topshop £22
Heels- River Island £75
Headband- Vintage Free

I'm a little bit of smart.

Jumper- Topshop £28
Shirt- Vintage £26
Shorts- Vintage £25

Felt on the smart side today, love the shirt under jumper look so thought it would go perfectly. I figured out I need to buy lots more knits rather than shoes as I think we're waiting for one cold summer! I wear my levi's with almost everything, these particular ones I purchased from Clothes Show Live 2011 at a vintage store I shamefully cannot remember the name of, moral of the story is I got these and a dark red pair for £40- bargain!

Thanks to all the new followers!

Maxi.

Coat- Topshop (cannot remember price- last year buy)
Top- H+M £7.99
Shirt- Miss Selfridge £28
Skirt- Topshop £48
Boots- River Island £75
Jewellery- Ebay finds

First off, let me apologise for not posting in such a long time! Today I had to get on the "what i'm wearing today' photos as my friend needed photo's of different styles for 'stylesight competition'.
The coat as I mentioned was a last year purchase but every winter a good old fur coat comes in handy, I find the pattern of the fur really unusual and cool but most annoying to accompany certain garments. The skirt is visually quite summery but teamed with a winter fur, I find gives it that wintery feel, also with a pair of thick leggings underneath I will be ready for the torturing wind. I always find boots go better with maxi's rather than flats, what do you all think?

Hard to get?

Are you overpowered by a man? Unfortunately I have been swayed by the lovey dovey rubbish that I used to be repulsed by!

My usual student traits of leering over the likes of Paul Walker and Mario Falcone have been reformed for comfy sofa nights in with a dominos and cute spooning sessions. A manly personality that can take control of a passionate night seems so far away, when all I want is an old fashioned and meaningful bond. From buying magic corn so we can try the whole menu of flavours together to irritating each other by taking ages when clothes shopping, we have the foundations of a good relationship.

I assure you it is not the ripped body, golden skin and beautiful surfer hair that keeps me hooked, it is the good old cliché of ‘treat ‘em mean, keep ‘em keen’ that is such an effective tool. This distance between us makes the three words people either strive for or dread a mission away! The L word is said so freely these days that as soon as you even mention the word, people refuse to believe it. Especially as he is five years older than me, he seems to think his age automatically gives him maturity. Total lie. This maturity quite clearly means he understands love and when people mean it. Total lie.

Not only are his thoughts on the L word stubborn, his trust issues are off the scale. His peculiar saying ‘Allow it’ is something that is consistent in his ridiculous and immature vocabulary…I mean what are we actually ‘allow-ing’ here? Maybe he should allow the L word and maybe an orange, dwarf, ghetto booty girl like myself.

You would think he wants me to himself but that couldnt’ be further from the truth. Shockingly, I am still awaiting the blessing of his question “Will you be my girlfriend?” Is it the hard to get attitude keeping me intrigued?

Women are renowned for judging themselves against the stereotypical media; a feeling of half best always arises. I have made this mistake. His ex of four years, a page three model may I add, gives me the annoying feeling of jealously 24/7. Within this self-doubt it leaves you half asleep to things he is doing; buying magazines with her splashed across the centre pages. Do feelings not run deeper than that these days? Call me old fashioned but months of undeniable lust and affection are worth more than a few sneaky pictures of your ex struggling to remember where she left her dignity. Maybe that is the reason to why he started drooling when I mentioned having a boob job in the future?

We all want that one guy to notice when we put in insane amounts of effort from investing in a Primark air boost bra with extra padding, going along with the football talk to keep them interested, when really you couldn’t give a stuff and tanning the inside of your legs so they are seemingly skinnier. He doesn’t even seem to notice when I change into a tacky tracksuit from a corset and suspenders.

However, in some circumstances girls trust issues are just as bad. He smiles every time LMFAO come on the radio singing Party Rock because it reminds him of me. Also making himself late for work, after a half hour drive to fill my hot water bottle and tuck me into bed when I suffered woman flu. Are these moves that prove he does have deep feelings for me? Or am I to blind to see it.

Meeting in a club, alcohol fuelled, finding each other irresistible, didn’t make a normal one night stand, we both went our separate ways at the end of the night. It formed something that makes me smile constantly. Reminiscing on the night, we still have barrels of laughter thinking about it and it is something that we like to reenact on a regular occasion, mojito on his bill please?

Every woman dreams of the chance to meet ‘Mr Right’ so they can fulfill their romantic desires. He might not be quoted ‘Mr Right’ and he might do everything the wrong way in the love rulebook but he does it the right way for me.

Taking a trip back to year young, I may have to create a positive and negative list. Who ever said we are too young? Seems a good idea to evaluate whether the soppy stuff weighs out the bad! The cute stuff is all good and well to ‘aww’ at but when it come downs to it are the tears in the pillowcase worth it? A student life should be full of freedom and what better ‘get over’ strategy is that! I can’t seem to silence the voices in my head saying- you deserve better. There is no changing a guy that doesn’t like change so what is the point in sticking around to watch a dead end, boring? A get rid situation seems to be on the horizon.

So there I am ready to finito whatever we were and there he is at my door. Hopefully realising his mind games are game over.

Acting very suspicious, it felt like he was hiding something from me, maybe something that could make this end to the story easier? Cookie dough. My favourite hot dessert was what he had sneakily held behind his back. Just to stop you from worrying- I’m not this easily persuaded. Along with the dessert comes the question “I’m sorry, will you finally be my girlfriend?” Without a shadow of doubt, the word ‘yes’ slips off my tongue. Funny how everything bad disappears when you get what you want. Cookie dough? Tick. Cuddles on the sofa? Tick. Is he still the same? Danger. Who am I kidding? This boy will always have my heart.

Flowers in the snow.

Shirt- H+M £14.99
Top- Topshop £8
Shorts- Topshop £38
Scarf- H+M £12.99

Due to the forecast saying snow and -6 degrees today, I wanted to feel summery underneath all the dreaded layers. The white and blue together is literally my favourite thing, the colours compliment each other so tastefully. I wear the white shirt so repetitively for the reason that it makes me feel like Caggie Dunlop- sad I know, think I have a slight obsessive problem to deal with. The shorts are borrowed from a friend and I had to blog about them considering their cuteness! The dainty flowers accompany each other so nicely.

I will apologise for the terrible quality of these pictures, I couldn't take advantage of my photography friend today so I had no choice but to resort to the macbook photo booth!

Thanks to all the new followers, much appreciated!

Vintage vixens, boutique babes and high-street honeys.

Obtaining my vintage vixen persona, a unique reworked clutch bag caught my eye through the masses of people. Abundant with ribbons, tassels and antique colours, it was an accessory that would give an interesting edge to any outfit. I had to have it. Rudely barging my way through I was introduced to rare one off pieces that would make any fashion lover’s heart skip a beat. An added feature on the garments, which intrigued me, were the labels, little dainty signatures with a bowler hat entwined. The handmade feel is interesting as it gives an individual trait, something you wouldn’t be able to find anywhere else. Densely packed rails ranging from granny knits to 1970’s biker jackets, made me feel as if I had entered a world that allowed me to visit the past.

After purchasing my item of choice, struggling not to become bankrupt by buying every garment on the market place, I ventured on. In every sight, women were tackling everybody and climbing over each other like animals; desperate to find the bargains. A long lasting queue took hold of the pathway, bursting out of the queues were large shopping bags and feet from women resulting to the floor from their wait. Peculiarly, their wait was not agitating the women; they were getting more and more excited as the minutes went on. From up and coming designers such as Merrimaking to more commercial designers such as Pauls Boutique, there were queues for each and every one.

Celebrity appearances electrified the crowds making women overwhelmed. Crazed females queued for hours on end to capture a photo with their idols. From soap stars to models, showbiz fulfilled the crowds of people. One particular celebrity devoured hordes of fanatics, screaming and shouting their name. Hearing snippets of conversations, I discovered the waiting time for a photo with this particular celebrity was over three hours. This is what I call hard-core dedication. For a celebrity that wasn’t particularly well known, this desire to meet and greet came as a surprise to me. Not only did the clad of people hang around the celebrities. The model wannabes clung to the agency stands as well.
Amongst the busy atmosphere, my ears were burning with gossip and bitchy chit- chat. High- energy music seemed to spread from all areas, the sound echoed in my ears creating a buzz inside. Also a somewhat hyper woman was shouting down a microphone producing a displeasing tone. Although bargains there are a-plenty, I overheard tight women continuing to haggle. If it wasn’t haggling it was pushy sellers loudly luring the style heartthrobs in to spend their money. A somewhat hyper woman was shouting down a microphone producing a displeasing tone.

The mingling aroma of perfume filled the air, which gave me the feeling of delight. Pots of Häagen-Dazs everywhere kept me intrigued; I had the urge for the luxurious taste of ice cream on my tongue. Everybody had one to hand- I was stupidly singled out. Diet coke was something I most definitely had to hand, almost finding it hard to carry the cans that towered up against my body, from all angles these cute and miniature drinks were given out. Different smells came together and lingered under my nose; the specific smell of freshly made pizza savoured on my tongue and enticed a hunger within.

These qualities are what you call the Clothes Show Live. A one-stop shop, which is packed with everything, you could ever want from fashion. A world of high-street clothing, boutiques, trend forecasting, beauty and catwalks overfilled the NEC building. Different colour zones simplified the shopping experience; blue zone was home to my favourite things. Retro pieces kept my attention and restrained me from leaving. I appreciated the edgy street fashion that filled the purple zone, I enjoyed considering how fashionistas would embrace the cool and diverse style. Pink zone was a rather obvious one; beauty took hold of this area- an area where you could feel glamorous and lovely. In this zone in particular the colours were vibrant and eye catching which was dazzling to the eye.

Without a doubt, the highlight of the day is the catwalk show, which in turn draws a pleasurable end to the day. Endless amounts of crowds entered the theatre eagerly ready for the show. The lights dimmed; The Night at The Department Store began.

Mannequins arrived on stage and came to life. A security guard made his way through the mannequins with his torch, showing some amazing dance moves. The security guard could have been the face of Hollister, his drop dread gorgeous looks had me gulping. The department store elevated up to different levels ranging from lingerie to bridal. Each level featured a striking beginning with professional dancers, creating considerable amounts of jealously throughout the crowds. After the dancers, came the models, the way in which the models and dancers collaborated created a show stopping performance.

Something unique about the show is that it wasn’t your average catwalk. It is not only focused on the clothing, it creates a story that keeps you intrigued. The lingerie department had a very seductive persona, slow and sexual dancing matched the revealing garments perfectly. On the other hand, the bridal department was very heart wrenching with a match made in heaven created by Bruno Mars singing ‘I wanna marry you’ and beautiful contemporary dancing.

The Clothes Show brings in numerous amounts of people in each year, which is no surprise due to the accessibility to browse 500 stalls of admirable fashion. Playing a huge part of British fashion history, it has created a girls paradise for decades.  A great aspect to The Clothes show is the fact that it falls around Christmas time every year, in perfect timing to start planning what you are going to wear over the party season. Arriving home, I wish I could go back right away. For anybody that has a passion for fashion, this show is a must see.

All the prices of the books you see above are purchased from Amazon, including postage. If you didn't know already i'm studying Fashion Writing and Culture at University and these books have helped a great deal. Going to the library to most definitely find whatever book you wanted just isn't the same as having your own collection of great sources. Therefore for any kind of Fashion courses, I would really recommend these books. Especially as a handful of them are bargains!

Sailor girl.

 Top- Topshop £28
Jeans- Topshop £38
Shoes- Converse £37.99
Headband- Vintage (Free)

I saw this top on one a staff member in Topshop the other day and besides my major decline in money, I had to have it. The giant bow on the back was so eye catching and unique. I wore this top first with my green jeans and white chiffon shirt but today I felt like dressing it up a bit and working the nautical effect with the red jeans. I've had these jeans for ages now and they are honestly the only jeans that have ever fit me perfectly due to my rather large bottom and stumpy legs. I now own these jeans in red blue green and pale pink. You can never go wrong with a pair of perfect fitting jeans! The headband was a gift from a vintage stall in Clothes Show Live 2011 due to my excessive amount of levi shorts purchased. I really like these sorts of headbands as they are so easy to put in and handle in your hair.

Just wanted to say a big thank you to all my new followers too! I am trying really hard to post every day considering I have a monstrous amount of uni work to be getting on with so you'll have to let me off occasionally! I have also followed all your lovely blogs :)

A cold day.

Cardigan- Urban Outfitters £20
Top- Topshop £8
Skirt- H+M £14.99
Tights- Primark £2.99
Boots- Primark £20
Earring- Topshop £7.50

So I finally managed to get my photography housemate out of her lazy pit, get her dslr and take some vain pictures of myself. Hence the reasoning for posting so many pictures of one outfit- the quality is just too good. I woke up to a bit of snow this morning in Southampton so came to the conclusion that wooly tights, a fur scarf and knee high boots were in order. I love the hippie feel that the chiffon cardigan gives, I find it makes the most boring outfits interesting. The blue t-shirt crop underneath is a proper cute buy and only £8. Its a given that it goes sublimely with high waisted skirts/shorts and a charming cardy chucked over the top. I had to mention the earring- it was such a cool find, they are pretty commercial at the moment but I don't care because the feather and colours featured on the earring are far too me.

Grungey flow.

Top- New Look £9.99
Dress- H+M £7.99 (worn underneath top)
Boots- Primark £20
Socks- Primark £2

Went home today to have lunch with the family, and seeing as the restaurant is downstairs from my house there was more excuse to wear an outfit that has a winter feeling to it but with big knits or bulky coat to hide what's underneath! This surprisingly is my cheapest outfit I have blogged about, I'm actually not minted, just all I spend my hard earned cash (student loan) on is clothes, clothes and more clothes and of course shoes, who could forget shoes.
I decided to put these garments together because the top had a grungey edge to it which I thought needed a gentle touch- hence the flowy dress. I also love these equestrian style boots with long socks poking out the top, these boots are amazing for going with pretty much every outfit from my bright green jeans to my white and grey spotted leggings.

Casual Cheetah.

Coat- River Island £64.99 (20% off)
Shirt- H+M £14.99
 Top- Urban Outfitters £10
Leggings- Primark £6
Boots- Jeffrey Campbell £40 (Sale)

The coat featured at the top was purchased with a lot of luck. I had seen this gobsmacking coat in River Island a million times and fell in love with it every single time my eyes laid eyes on it. I had to have it but at the time I was planning on buying my white Caggie Dunlop blazer for £50 from there so I had to make the most heart breaking decision between them both. A couple of days later I came across a flyer for West Quay Southampton student discount event. This event was too good to be true, amazing discount of shops such as Office, River Island, Republic, Topshop, literally every shop you could think of. In my luck, River Island had 20% off, therefore I came to the typical addicted to shopping decision and bought both. These both now hang on special hangers in a special part of my wardrobe (so so sad!)
The white chiffon shirt is a bargain for how versatile it can be, I love wearing it with my wet look leggings and chunky brown heels (picture to come)
The boots I have posted about before, they are my new found love but I unfortunately had to get the size down from me as the five weren't available, I can't physically deal with the pain for too long. I wear them on short occasions and I love how they get noticed! Such cute boots.

Outfitting galore.

Jeffrey Campbell £40

I'm so not a sales lover, all the rummaging through rails and rails of messy clothes just doesn't do it for me, but whilst surfing Urban Outfitters for cute finds the other day, I found myself being drawn to the sale, a stress free zone because after all you're on your own online shopping.  Lucky enough for me, my discoveries were great! One buy in particular I am stupidly thrilled about is my Jeffrey Campbell cheetah boots, I bought them for £40 down from £120 and they have now been put up in price to £70 (kerching!!) Another worth while bargain was the Printed Kimono Blouse for £20, it goes perfectly underneath my black fur cardigan from H+M, superb for winter layering. The grunge red crop top is a match made in heaven with my levi high waisted shorts, it also appeared in 90210 the other day- ended up shouting a the television "ahh she's wearing MY top" oh dear!
Theres not many items in the sale left but I would advise still looking, definitely worth the pennies.
